Aspen is a very walkable town rich in culture, history, a wide variety of shops, restaurants, bars, art centers, parks and the charm of small mountain town. All of our Town Attractions listed below are a 4-14 minute walk from your room at the Tyrolean Lodge. If walking is not your thing, we have free bikes to help you get around, or you may opt for Aspen’s free ride service called the Downtowner.

    Saturday Farmer's Market

    Located in downtown Aspen from 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m., this marketplace runs from the middle of June to the middle of October. Three blocks of hand-crafted food, art and clothing offer much to explore.

    Silver Circle Ice Rink

    Adjacent to CP Burger, Silver Circle Ice Rink makes skating a family affair with a charming atmosphere and small-town spirit. Order a burger first and skate it off, or earn yourself some truffle fries by racing your family around the rink.

    Wheeler Opera House

    With a history that goes back to 1889, Aspen’s beloved community performance venue is the premier spot for films, lectures, community events, opera and marquee concerts. The wheeler has hosted talents such as Jerry Seinfeld, Oprah Winfrey, and Sheryl Crow.

    Belly-up Aspen

    With a 450-person capacity, this adored concert venue has played host to an array of bands and national headliners such as The Temptations, Jimmy Buffet, Snoop Dogg, and John Legend. The intimate setting makes for an up-close-and-personal live music experience that’s unrivaled by any other ski town. It's not uncommon to have the musicians and their followers choose the Tyrolean for their stay.

    Isis Movie Theatre

    Relax in a reclining chair and enjoy a glass of chardonnay for the full cinematic experience in Aspen’s boutique-style movie theater.

    Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series

    This outdoor music series features three highly anticipated performances, two of which fall in the spring. Past years’ lineups have included Umphree’s McGee, Real Big Fish, Jamestown Revival, and Big Gigantic.

    Aspen Center for Environmental Studies

    ACES’ team of naturalists offers daily guided snowshoe tours on top of Aspen Mountain, Snowmass and Ashcroft. The naturalist-guided ski tour at Snowmass runs twice daily and on Fridays as part of Ullr nights. January through Mach, ACES puts on a twice weekly slideshow series at Hallam Lake, where adventurers share tales and environmental experts speak on various topics.

    John Denver Sanctuary

    The John Denver Sanctuary is nestled in the heart of Aspen, near the Roaring Fork River. The Song Garden features many of the iconic singer's lyrics etched into native river boulders placed in a perfect circle to represent the circle of life as a score of music and symbolizes the spirit of John, a beloved member of the Aspen community.

    Aspen Center for Physics

    Physicists share their cutting-edge research with Aspen locals and visitors during the free Heinz R. Pagels and Maggie and Nick DeWolf lecture series. Informal physics dialogues and cafés give the audience additional opportunities to ask questions and engage in conversations.

    Wheeler / Stallard Museum

    The Wheeler/Stallard house is a Queen Anne style Victorian built around 1887/1888. The first floor of the Museum is interpreted as a Victorian Aspen home and the second floor gallery features rotating exhibitions to explore area history. We highly recommend their historical walking tours!
