| Paragliding off Aspen Mountain |
What makes Aspen Amazing is that it has the culture and events of the hippest big city, breathtaking natural beauty and the charm of a very small town. Nestled below seven peaks over 14,000' high, and between three designated wilderness areas, Aspen's greatest asset may be the back country.
During the summer months hike, bike, climb, raft, fly fish, or golf. Stroll thru beautiful downtown and discover sophisticated shops and galleries, world class dining, rocking night life and unbelievable people watching. Visit the ghost towns of Independence and Ashcroft to see weathered cabins from Aspen's silver mining days 100 years ago. Take the Silver Queen Gondola to the top of Aspen Mountain (11,212') for stunning views of the Elk Mountains and a gourmet lunch at the Sundeck Restaurant. Enjoy a hike in the Maroon Bells Wilderness or take in a world class concert at the renowned Aspen Music Festival.
